The Social Media Intern is responsible for ensuring Blind Tiger Cafe digital plan for all social channels and web/email content continually reflects the Blind Tiger Cafe brand voice and online objectives.

This involves managing the digital asset calendar, coordinating all onsite content and assets, developing the digital asset naming convention, and scheduling and executing posts made on Blind Tiger Cafe’s behalf.

The incumbent will also devise and execute digital content tactics for email, display advertising and social posting to enhance the brand look and feel and to build a positive reputation online.

The right candidate is accountable for developing and executing an online content strategy and plan calendar, providing a cohesive experience that contributes to Blind Tiger Cafe’s marketing goals to increase customer conversion and retention.

Overall, we are looking for an excited individual who models our core values and contributes content that keeps the Blind Tiger Cafe brand the #1 coffee and cafe experience in Tampa Bay through leader in style, selection, quality and customer service.

Primary Job Functions:

Creates and manages the digital asset/content planning calendar in alignment with Blind Tiger Cafe’s brand marketing goals.
Brings together online marketing, in store consumer and other engagement insights to drive a compelling offers, user experience and asset activation cadence to increase the number of customers engaging with the content, their depth of engagement and their subsequent spend at Blind Tiger Cafe.
Creation and management of promotional and seasonal calendars to ensure alignment across all cross functional parties.
Manages content and asset creation process by coordinating requests from marketing, design and management teams. Ensures that approved content and disclaimers are delivered to the user at the right time, with the right message.
Coordinates onsite promotions and codes through site merchants and retail team.
Communicates planned promotions to appropriate parties for cross functional alignment.
Ensures all promotional messaging and visual content is covered on website, in concert with the marketing demands.
Assists in making data-driven decisions regarding content site placement and promotional planning, so that those digital assets will deliver on marketing and  business objectives.
Collaborates in the development of the annual marketing/creative calendar, based on product introductions and seasonal promotions.
Demonstrates the company’s core and growth values in performance of all job functions.

Secondary Job Functions:

Stays current with online content management, onsite marketing and planning best practices, strategies and industry standards, including compliance with relevant regulations.
Learns trends in the coffee/retail/food and beverage industry as a whole to establish a strong understanding Blind Tiger Cafe’s positioning in the marketplace.
Picks up projects on the fly as they come up.
Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.

Schedule Expectations:

Hours may be flexible due to school schedule between 8am-8pm Monday- Friday. This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week.
The position may require our Social Media Intern to work weekends or evenings with number of hours allotted per week to increase during events, holiday seasons or to meet other business needs.
Travel will be on an occasional basis, and encompass approximately 10-20% of this position. Any required travel expenses may be reimbursed.

Job Qualifications:


In pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Journalism/Mass Comm/Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience/Interest in Graphic Design appreciated but not required.


Portfolio required for interview- may include but not limited to: writing samples, social media calendar, mock branding project or business plan, etc.


Personal Laptop Required

Knowledge, Skills:

Exceptional knowledge of the digital scheduling cycle, from inception to release.
Strong knowledge of content management systems.
Familiarity with various social media tools and platforms.
Familiarity with web technologies including various tagged data, asset formats and files types.
Exceptional skills in project management methods and techniques.
Strong skills in data analysis and interpretation.
Strong problem solving skills, along with data analysis and interpretation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to organize thoughts, communicate clearly, completely and concisely.
